scrolling window behaviour

Postby Anderson » Mon May 02, 2016 6:33 am

I am seeing misplaced display of field text when I go to next card after changing the horizontal scroll position on a scrolling window. This happens in 4.7 & 4.8 . I tried pasting identical cards and still get this result.

I'm afraid I'm not having any luck reproducing this (not that I'm really sure what I'm looking for...).

Could you post a sample project?

Thanks,

I've posted a sample and a youtube movie with subject "text shifting in scrolling window".

Would it be fair to say that scrolling windows are incompatable with multi card projects?

This errant behavior has proven surprisingly stubborn and difficult to eliminate...

I think the reason it happened is that when I did the Carbon port (fifteen years ago) we changed how card-to-card navigation works so that the scroll wasn't always reset to 0,0. It's just taken until now for anyone to report this side-effect.

Fixing it though is like chasing a bubble around under a sheet of linoleum -- eliminating it here just makes it appear somewhere else. I'm still working on finding a solution...

I've put a 'lockscreen on closeCard" command in the window script and this seems to have fixed the problem.
BTW I happened to look up linoleum and got info on a programming language for windows called L.in.oleum !?
Also do you say "lin-o-lee-um" or "line-o-lee-um"?

It's 'lin-OH-lee-um' (or as my grandmother from Jersey City called it, 'ERL-cloth').

Man, I must be gettin' OLD... ;-)

Still seeing residual image on next card in a scrolling window. I've posted an exciting video of it!
