Searching a Projects Scripts

Postby sctell » Tue May 09, 2017 10:14 am

Is it possible within the script editor/IDE to search all scripts within a project and it's objects for a given string of text and for the scripts/handlers containing the string to be returned?

I can't find it and it does seem a somewhat basic requirement.

Thanks

I think you're looking for the Project Search Utility in SC (the window that opens is somewhat conversely titled "Search Project").

Really

Must have gone off into the wilderness looking for this oddly named utility

Thanks

One thing I have experienced is problems with searching projects which have many windows/ cards. What I have done is copy a window or just a single card into a new project and proceeded to search only within the newly created project.

What kind of problems? I have searched thru projects as complicated as the RTE and not seen an issue. What are you experiencing?

I am a big fan of the Project Search Utility.
Sorry to say, I can't recall the exact issue that I was having, but if I have difficulties in the future I will be sure to note them on the Forum.
I do see that User Props don't seem to be searched at all.

Correct... as it wasn't designed to. Seems reasonable to add it though; look for it in b28.
