shiftKey optionKey always return "up"

Postby Will (CA) » Sun May 21, 2017 3:34 pm

Hi!

I don’t know what version these started in, all of a sudden a
rarely used button would not function.

Menu Master no longer selects a menu item with a single click, you have to drag down from the previous item.

shiftKey() and optionKey() always return “up”, regardless of the key’s position

The following statements now will not work in openProject; I now have to put them into
openCard functions:
set allowKeyInField to true -- turn on checking for the keys
set textArrows to true -- make sure user can navigate inside text

I am running El Capitan v10.12.6, and SuperCard Beta #27

Is there a special site for bug reports? or should I continue to use the forum?

Thanks -Will

My error: I was running 10-11-5, an upgrade to 10-11-6 solved the shift key problem.

I am not seeing this here... and it sounds akin to an issue that was in b26. Are you sure you replaced the SuperCard 4.8.0 folder that goes into "/Library/Application Support/"?

shiftKey() and optionKey() always return “up”, regardless of the key’s position

Also not seeing this here. Try creating a new project with the following project script:

Code: Select all
on idle
   put "shift is"&&shiftkey()&&"and option is"&&optionkey()
end idle

Then play with the keys and see what is in the message box.

The following statements now will not work in openProject; I now have to put them into
openCard functions:
set allowKeyInField to true -- turn on checking for the keys
set textArrows to true -- make sure user can navigate inside text

Here... these properties are being set when called from a project's script. Try putting a trace statement in your project script just before them and see if they are in fact being executed and nothing else is changing their value.

Actually, 10.12 is Sierra.

The forum is fine... but you can also report them via http://supercard.us/bug-report.html

Thanks!
