Securing all scripts?

When building a standalone there is the option for "Secure all scripts." What does this do exactly? To prevent the knowledgable person from accessing the script, say from SuperEdit, is this enough? Do I also have to add a password in SuperEdit as described in the user manual or is that redundant?

They aren't redundant. Script encryption vs being able to open the project file.
