cardEyedropper (pure script rgb reader)

Postby gonetriadrr » Sat Feb 04, 2012 8:41 am

A simple frontscript based palette that gets rgb values of objects in an elegible supercard window.
When enabled, the frontscript will intercept mousdown messages and report the RGB value of the screen pixel at the mouseloc as the mouse is dragged around the target window.

If the mouseobject = "", values aren't updated.

Mouseup messages are not trapped...

Hi,

Well done, a nice idea.

How does it perform if you were trying to aggregate all the colours in an image say (500 * 500) 250000 iterations.

If it performs satisfactorily then Chris, in the other thread, would not need an external at all.

All the best

Everything one would need to know to construct such a test is given in the 'frontscript' button script.
Collecting rgb values for 250,000 pixels is one thing, working with that data is another.
Is is really necessary to get value of all quarter million pixels at once?

PS: IMHO, an external that returns histogram style data would be useful if paired with ability to modify original image... like a Photoshop style 'levels' or 'curves' function.

Hi,

I have pointed Chris here from the external thread to see if he can use it.

I am not sure exactly what Chris is doing with the data but I thought he needed to use the data with Applescript and something to do with colouring spreadsheets.

Perhaps he will comment.
