Find All Palette

Postby JoeKoomen2011 » Mon Jan 04, 2010 5:11 pm

I can't remember who created the original project, but I've been making modifications to this for years. This palette provides "Search All" functionality for your projects. Simply paste the palette window into your project and create a menu item to open the window, then you're ready to go.

What the project does is search each field in each card of the topWindow for your project for the searchTerm. It returns a list of each card it found the searchTerm on, with multiple entries if the searchTerm was found in more than one field. Clicking through the found list will take you to each occurrence of the term.

There's room for improvements, like finding each instance in the same field, but I think this is a valuable tool for most people who have ungainly projects with hundreds of cards that need searching.

Have you ever tried the project, "Project Search", in the RTE Utilities folder. That might do what you want also and it has a lot of options.
