Thanks so much! I just got Lion today, and there was the new SC.

By the way, the latest version of "Using SuperEdit" I seem to have was for SuperCard 4. Is there a newer version, and if so how can I get it?

Thanks again.                               --Jim

There's a "Using SuperEdit" section in the User Guide. Is that what you're looking for?

How friendly is SC 4.7.2 to older OS's? (I'm still 10.5.8)

Hi Scott,

I've just downloaded SC 4.7.2. I noticed something a little odd; the following code is fine:
Code: Select all
show cd grc "Moo 1"

This version with the brackets throws error 41, 'Never heard of that function name'
Code: Select all
show cd grc ("Moo 1")

The tracer points me to this section of code in the Runtime editor:
Code: Select all
on show what
global RTE_NAME, RTE_ACTIVE
if what = "about" and RTE_ACTIVE = "true" then send "mAboutSuperCard" to proj RTE_NAME
else pass show
end show

If you want a bug report on this, where should I post it?
Thanks
Alec

Just to note, the following code also throws the same error:
Code: Select all
Show cd grc ("Moo" && myVariable)

Thanks

Hi Josh,
Fine, so far. I expect fine to be the case moving onward.
I've been using OSX 10.5.8
I have not looked at Alec's issue using any version of SC.

Has anyone else had problems downloading SuperCard 4.7.2? I bought the upgrade earlier today, but can't log in to the directory where I should download the file. I keep getting an error. I've written SuperCard Support twice and no response in over an hour. I thought maybe there's something simple I'm missing. I enter the Name and Password provided in the email and have tried with both Safari and Firefox. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can't use my old version of SC now that I've upgraded to Lion, and I have a couple projects where I really need to use it soon.

Here's the error message I get:

You don't have permission to access /fills/ on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

SC Support couldn't explain the problem, but did give me a new URL to try, which allowed me to download without logging in. That did the trick.

Sorry Josh… this one fell through the cracks. 4.7.2 will be fine on 10.4 and up.
