Custom Color Cursors in Lion

Postby fooddoc » Sun Oct 02, 2011 8:43 am

I'm upgrading SC 4.1 and 4.5 projects to 4.7.2 and have run into numerous issues involving older XCMDs and Xfcns that no longer work in 4.7.2. One of these involves using a custom crsr resource to display a color cursor. An older XCMD, customcursor, worked fine until SC 4.7.2, but is not recognized by SC now.

Can anyone tell me how to display a custom cursor? Simply using the "set cursor to 128" command will work for a CURS resource, but not for a crsr resource. Have the resource requirements changed in 4.7.2?

I am guessing your non-working externals have more to do with Lion than with SuperCard. With Lion, you lost the ability to execute PPC code as the Rosetta emulation environment has been removed. Your XCMD was most likely compiled to PPC code only.

I am afraid that SuperCard has no native support color cursors.
