resource collector

Postby gonetriadrr » Thu Jan 20, 2011 12:35 pm

a drag n drop enabled project that collects resfork resources as individual files.
built & tested using SC 4.6.3 under OS 10.4.11

uses a variety of shell() calls and a pure SuperTalk res map parser.
Note: res map parser built without benefit of any reference. Failure to parse a resmap successfully should be expected.

This version allows processing of an entire folder or disk and uses md5 digest to minimize duplication.
Instead of slurping up an entire fork, chunks are read as needed.
Errors are posted to console instead of throwing dialogs.
Pict resources known to be compressed are skipped.

Hi David,

FWIW you might find this task a bit easier if you incorporate some of the tweaks I added to this (slightly simplified) copy of your original...

Thanks! I'm looking forward to looking over the mods.
I've a knack for making the simple look difficult ;)

Thanks Mark,

I gave up requesting an external that reads any resource years ago.
Got a writeResource xternal to match? ;)

An xternal to get rgb via Quartz GenericCMYK would be nice too.
