Rot13?

Will the external rot13 work with the present version of SC? If so, where can it be obtained?

Thanks,
Richard

ROT13 as in the Caesar Cypher? If so, unless you need to encrypt multi-MB texts SuperTalk should be plenty fast enough to do that natively.

We are needing it for encrypting an external text file. Do you or anyone have a script version of Rot13?

Hi Richard,

This should probably do the trick...

Code: Select all
on ROT13 inFile, outFile
  get shell(merge("tr 'A-Za-z' 'N-ZA-Mn-za-m' < `[[hfsToPosix(inFile)]]` > `[[hfsToPosix(outFile)]]`"))
end ROT13

HTH,
-Mark

Hopefully, you aren't expecting that to be a securely encrypted file.....

No, just not wanting the casual user to copy the text and pass it around. I have put in many hours (a hundred?) into editing this database file and it would lose its value if easily copied, etc.
