My external or SC don't know

Postby sctell » Thu Sep 27, 2012 11:21 pm

I have just noticed this warning in Console.

I am not sure whether it is a external or SC prompting this.

How do I find out?

28/09/2012 08:15:47.708 SuperCard 4.7[389]: The function `CGSFlushWindow' is obsolete and will be removed in an upcoming update. Unfortunately, this application, or a library it uses, is using this obsolete function, and is thereby contributing to an overall degradation of system performance. Please use `CGSFlushWindowContentRegion' instead.

Hi,

I have narrowed it down.

Firstly it showed in a project that contained my own externals and
popupMenu
sortField
sortFieldByItem

Now it shows in a project that contains no externals of mine and:
tabitha
popupMenu
sortField
sortFieldByItem
ListMaster

So, although it does not eliminate my externals from the enquiry it would seem to be definitely associated with SC and/or it's externals.

All the best

Set a breakpoint on CGSFlushWindow. If you do, you'll likely find it's being triggered by QDFlushPortBuffer, a Carbon Toolbox call. The warning is harmless, there's no workaround, and Apple is aware of the problem.

Whether they'll fix it is anyone's guess of course...
