Mail Storage Location

Postby Dan_Kelleher » Sat Aug 20, 2011 8:58 am

Does anyone where Mail.app( OSX 10.5.8) stores the messages. I found them once but I'm impatient with Apple at the moment.

Spotlight finds them (a message) but selection of a message fails to put the path into the field at the bottom of the window.

I'd really like to be able to back them up in readable text as a separate operation from other backUp methods.

I know there is a way of exporting but I'd like to review the actual location on disc and the form they are stored in.

Thank you Scott.
I was stimulated to look again; they are actually here on OSX 1058, at the root level of the User's Library folder:

MainS120:Users:danielkelleher:Library:Mail:

The format (at least as I use Mail) is "semi-html" that Safari can't read, as least without some modifications.
